What's this? An update? August 16, 2004

Yep, and with it a review. I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things here (this review is exactly 6 months late), but balancing real life stuff with this and my other Infiltration projects is getting more difficult. Still, I could do with a hand getting through this huge list of maps to review, so anyone interested please get in touch.
Also, there seems to be a discrepency between our DM-INF-FMpush and that of CombatMaps. While I still insist that ours is the definitive version ;), I'll update it now to save version mismatches. The file will take a few hours to get to all the mirrors, so for the moment just download it from CombatMaps (thanks mat69 for pointing this out). |

Another month... June 1, 2004

It's that time again... time for some map pack goodness. I've put the maps from April and May all together, so InnerCity isn't left all alone, and the actual mappack will be uploaded later today. If you don't want to wait, though, or you want a nice easy single file, then grab the RealMaps full Infiltration 2.9 mappack if you haven't already (I see 21 people already downloaded it). All these, and older mappacks, can be found in the mappacks section (strangely enough). Please note that the fmovmap.u is an old version, so you'll need to get the newer version from eas-fmkasbah or EAS-INF-Skopje_EX.
To round things off, it wouldn't be a news item from me if I didn't ask for potential reviewers to step up to the plate. You all know the score - get some emails sent off to me or Kibbles now!
Update:The fmovmap.u included in the full mappack was is fact the correct version, so I've updated (or downdated, if there is such a thing) Skopje_EX with the right version. |

Sorry about the delay, I was... somewhere else, but the March 2004 mappack is all ready for download (or will be, once the BeyondUnreal mirrors do their stuff). I know that I said I'd have the Bastillestation review done a long time ago, but a number of things came up, and to be honest I've still hardly played the map. However, I assure you it will be done soon, and you might even be seeing some new faces around here :).
Also, if you haven't already, check out ant75's EAS conversion of one of AngelHeart's masterpieces: InnerCity - I'll have it hosted over here as quick as my connection allows (another few hours then). |

I've got my review of Avignon up now, please forgive me if you don't like the style, don't agree with the review or can pick 10,000 holes in it, I'm a little out of touch with reviewing. I'll move right on to VeGA-Don's EAS conversion of the classic Bastille map, hopefully to be finished next weekend (when my Easter break starts). Two French-themed maps in a row... not good for the health ;).
Here's a little reminder that we're still looking for reviewers... there's no way I can get through all of these on my own, especially with exams coming up fairly soon. If you want to help out, drop myself or Kibbles an email. |

RealMaps needs you! March 2, 2004

Just to keep you going insane from seeing Kibbles' avatar all over the front page, here's a little update from me. Firstly, Fat Marrow's EAS-INF-Gatehouse is now uploaded, and the latest version of EAS-INF-LondonCity should be here - both maps well worth downloading.
Next, it's well worth checking out the Infiltration Development forum - there's a whole load of beta EAS maps to check out, and they get updated so regularly, I think I'm just going to wait for full releases before putting them up here. Most of them can be tested on the {GD} clan's server.
I've put together a map pack of all maps released between the release of Infiltration 2.9 and the end of Februrary 2004. See the Map Packs section to download it (give it a few minutes to get to all mirrors). I'll be making monthly mappacks of all maps released (as opposed to all maps reviewed), and they should be all ready to extract and go, so hopefully they'll work better than the old ones :).
Finally, and probably most importantly, you may have noticed the ever-increasing list of maps that need reviewing. As Kibbles doen't play much Infiltration any more, and I don't have that much time any more, we need reviewers. So, if you like playing Infiltration, have a good eye for detail, a semi-decent grasp of the English language, and a few minutes to spare, drop an email to either myself or Kibbles, preferably with a little sample (or a whole review if you feel like it) of what you can do. |

Another long-overdue update. I've been busy at college, but due to an upcoming transfer to a new school and a new degree, I have some free time. So, what's in store?
First, I want to get an FTP setup for all you mappers out there who need to get your maps out to the public. For those of you without an FTP client or who have never used one, I can point you toward several good tutorials and where to start, or I can code a web-based upload form.
Second, I am trying to get off my lazy butt and hook our pal Crowze up with all the info he will need to take over my position here at RealMaps. Well, most of my position. How much is actually up to him. But being as I no longer play Infiltration on a regular basis, I don't feel its fair for me to be holding the reigns.
Third, I have no idea what's third. There will be something that will come up, I'm sure. |

Men! Today's the day! Or rather, the day will soon be upon us... Something we have awaited for an eternity! The culmination of all that we have strived to... Ok, enough with that. I'll just say it.
(Note: many Bothans died to bring us this information.)
According to a reliable source, INFILTRATION 2.9 FOR UNREAL TOURNAMENT HAS GONE GOLD! I have been told that our loyal fans should look to the the Official INF Homepage on Friday of this week for the announcement of the release date!
I eagerly await this, as do most of you, I am sure. If you don't, then you shall be branded a traitor and a threat to the Crown, and banished to a life of Counterstrike for all eternity. That is all. |

Update! September 13, 2003

Thank GOD! I know. Finally an update. As it stands I have shifted around a bunch of my classes so that I have a few days off which can be devoted to RealMaps, and hopefully to fragging some of you online! There will also be some changes around here.
First off I am considering turning this into a one man show. As great as my team has been, its just much easier for me to handle editing, reviewing, and PR duties by myself. Also, there will be minor interface changes and a bit of srping (fall?) cleaning going on. If you have anything else you'd like to see done, drop me a line ;)
UPDATE Please check out the thread here in the INF dev forum. Speak out. Let me know what you would like to see done! |

| News no longer applies (see above). |
|
| Might as well bring this up while hard news is slow. I will be heading off to college on July 7th. Meaning as of July 7th updates will be fewer and further between (as if 12 days wasn't bad enough some times). If anyone is interested in helping out feel free to drop me an email, it would be greatly appreciated. |
